Jerks at Black Cat

Black Cat Sucks!

Well, I was going to go to the Handsom Furs concert at Black Cat in DC on 14th & U St. We had even ridden our bikes all the way there. We were about to get vegetarian food at their restaurant also. Since we had biked, I had brought a bottle of water with me. However, one of the bouncers decided they had to check my bag before I could enter the restaurant even though it was a separate room and floor from the concert. Guess what? Outside water was not allowed. So, we left & the guy called me a dick on the way out.

Fast Lower Thirds in FCP

Combine After Effects and FCP

First, a big thanks to DigitalProducer.com for posting this easy to find tutorial.
Making cool looping effects in AE, to use for things such as "Chyrons" or Lower 3rds is super fast, fun and easy. You just need AE (probably the biggest hurdle), but there are just things in AE you can't do in any other program.

The show was actually quite fantastic.

Red Line Collision

Asleep at the Wheel?

We may never know exactly what happened, but let's just say it was a strange end to another depressing story: "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" starring Elizabeth Taylor. The first screening of the year for National Theatre Summer Cinema was last night. It ended with the host announcing this terrible incident.

Bob Dylan in The Rain

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Most good stories start that way.
This is no exception.

Gunman at the Holocaust Museum; Peace in the Middle East

Danger in the District

Shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC

From USA Today, one hour ago

The elderly gunman is rumored to be a white supremacist.

The shooting just occurred, blocks from where I'm staying.

The America I Won't Eat

The Human Footprint

The Human Footprint - Food Consumption (click to enlarge)

After watching this film, I realized how out of touch I actually am from the dominant American ideology. Not that I think that is a bad thing, especially considerring all the health problems we seem to have destroying our health and driving costs through the roof.
